Did You Know...
Speech-Language Pathologists are required to complete 1 ASHA CEU each year or 3 ASHA CEUs every third year to maintain their licensure.
To ensure that our therapists have an opportunity to fulfill these requirements, Global Communications Services, Inc. is proud to announce that we have resumed offering Continuing Education Video Seminars for Speech Therapists. We invite you to take this opportunity to fulfill your requirements and extend the invitation to your fellow Speech-Language Pathologists who may also need these courses.
All seminars will be held at our corporate headquarters in Lake Success. We will be offering these video seminars at a reduction of the cost of purchasing the self-study program on your own. The cost of each video seminar covers the cost of the video, workbooks, material sets, supplies, and the exam. Payment for each seminar will be due in advance, as we will have to order the materials and exams for each participant ahead of time in order to ensure that they arrive prior to the session.
Below is a list of seminars currently available. Global will be adding new seminars as needed. If you are interested in a particular related seminar that is not currently offered, please let us know.
Please review the list below and contact us via phone (516) 327-4681 or email ( as soon as possible with your availability if you would like to attend one or more of these seminars. Seminars are easily scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. We will try to accommodate requests for weekend and after-hours seminars for those therapists who cannot make it during business hours, provided there is a great demand for those times. Please note that at least 2-3 people are required in order to schedule weekend or after-hours sessions. Long courses will be split into 2-3 sessions. Once your scheduling request is received, you will be contacted with further information and instructions.

  • "Feeding Therapy: A Sensory-Motor Approach"
    Lori L Overland, MS, CCC-SLP
Seminar focuses on the oral phase of feeding, nutritive issues, oral sensitivities and the acquisition of proper oral-motor movements for successful feeding. This will serve as a pre-requisite for the development of speech and expressive, linguistic communication in children (birth-to-five population), although the therapy techniques are applicable to all age ranges. In addition, there are sensory and feeding practicums that help participants build confidence in their abilities to use therapeutic feeding with their clients.
12-hour course; Satisfies 1.2 ASHA CEUs; Cost: $250
  • "A Three-Part Treatment Plan for Oral-Motor Therapy"
    Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, MS, CCC-SLP
Seminar will familiarize the participant with the normal and abnormal development of oral motor skills, teach diagnostic techniques for evaluating clients with oral-motor based speech and language disorders, and associate individual speech sounds with specific oral-motor skill levels. In addition, it will present an integrated program of oral-motor intervention (a. feeding, b. oral-motor exercises, c. facial cueing) that will result in a practical approach to articulation therapy. Participants will gain a working base from which to develop an individualized oral-motor program for each of their existing clients.
